Cool environment. is this being played in rec just because?
My uniformed guess: Smaller environment for their fan base means better feel of home crowd advantage. Also a better opportunity to control the tickets and limit Illini attendance

Saw the pictures of the gym…my high school, Moline, played in a bigger place, the Wharton Field House seats about 7000. It looks like the fans are going to be right on the court for this game! It could provide some classic Coleman moments…or some frustrating Coleman T’s 😬

I particularly like how they can’t extend the bleachers for hoops on the bench side. So fans can drop chicken wings on BU instead of throwing them AT him.

They're going to press...Hawkins is our wildcard for breaking it...

So we get Illini Bardo at the game and ex-Illini Bruce in studio, not bad, but Hummel has spoiled me.

For the past 70 years, I have preferred the blue Illini uniforms and love that they are breaking them out tonight. My HS colors were orange and black and I always preferred to wear black. Home whites meant nothing as the crowds, band, a great gym for basketball, and the smell of popcorn on gameday were enough to inspire.

As long as Jalen Pickett and his big booty doesn’t walk through that door, I like our chances tonight. 🤷‍♂️
I will never understand how dominant Pickett could be at booty ball given his height. Penn State listed him at 6'4", but the Denver Nuggets list him at 6'2"!
Turnabout is fair play so tonight the booty ball will be conducted by Domask and Rodgers!

Love these particular blue unis.

How far can you throw a chicken wing?
If you can't be there, nothing better then watching the ILLINI at a bar with good friends and good wings!
Also, alas… not as far as I could throw one 20 yrs ago. Just ordered some , though. For eating.

The smell of the popcorn does it for me every time!

We cover the 7.5 pts, and I'll take UNDER the 156 pts. This small venue may mean that we get off to a slow start.

Weber has been a fantastic listen in the games he's called. They really need to get him more games as an analyst. I'd honestly put him up there with Hummel.
