I was hoping to see an effective run game, enabled by the O line. Not what I wanted to hear!

I think it will be good to see what McMillen can do. Had a ton of good offers coming out of HS, and he is a bit bigger than Kreutz. If he is the projected starting center for next year, this is a good opportunity for him to preview that.

I trust that our coaches put the best players on the field, but one of my intrusive thoughts about Illinois football is that Kreutz's reputation is based more on his last name than it is on his play. I'll be interested to see how noticeable the difference is if he's out today.

He's perhaps a bit undersized but his football IQ is through the roof and you do not want to pick a fight with him. He's been everything we could ask for given we hadn't planned on starting him until Jones suddenly left for Auburn.
