terrible clock management, really makes no sense

It makes perfect sense based on the thought process. You are up 10 with one minute left in half (and getting ball to start 2nd half), and Purdue just went 60 yards in one play. You simply cannot give the ball back to Purdue with any time left in the half (they had 2 timeouts). I would have been slighlty more aggressive, but I was fine with the coach reasoning above.

The first down changed the game plan. Getting points there was a bonus. Score out of the half now, and it is a 3 score game.

and we get the ball back to start the 2nd half.........................great 1st half after falling behind 7-0 , but there is still 30 minutes left to play..........

Why in the world did we take time off the clock to start?

With 1:13 and one TO... you should at least be going for the score. With how we're moving the ball that could've been 7.

You're assuming we pick up the first down. If we go three and out, Purdue gets the ball back with two time outs and a minute and a half to play. Once we got the first down, you can open the playbook. Bielema, correctly, wanted to have the ball last.

The negative takes are brutal. Bashing our staff every time something goes wrong is obnoxious. Our coaches know their guys....every strength and every weakness.

People were screaming at Henry to blitz and be more aggressive and when he dials it up and the safety takes a bad angle letting up the quick 6....they blame him. It's no win with some of these people.

Let's not pretend that was a result of Purdue doing whatever they wanted to us. They had one "good" drive: their first.

The other long drive concluded with a 60 yard TD catch on a blown coverage play in which their QB made the right read just in time.

I'm happier watching this game than I have been watching any of the other away game games this year at half time.

We wasted almost 30 seconds. It doesn't make any sense.

It did to Bret on second and long and 1:13 left. Had it bee. 2nd and 3 I expect they wouldn't have used so much clock. Couldn't afford and incomplete pass and Purdue with timeouts.

It’s the same posters, week in,week out. I just feel sorry for any fam & pets. Must be such a joy to be around. Making game threads insufferable.
