The 2 first half minutes was because Tomi needed a breather and Z couldn't play because he also had 2 fouls. I suppose we could have went small with Mirk or Ben at the 5 though.

Don't think I'd go as far as to say we have (uppercase) MAJOR troubles because Jakstys played 2 minutes in the first half in a game where our regular backup center was in foul trouble vs an opponent such as Maryland... not trying to just explain this away, but I also don't think this was the precursor to Jakstys joining the rotation on a regular basis or anything like that.

If David can't go today, and we have no bigs other than Z, Tomi, and Ben, and two of them get into foul trouble (a distinct possibility in Mackey), who else can we run out there?

That is what had all year 2024-25 l. 3 man rotation. Booth was a last option and did not see much time on the court.

Exactly

Jakstys is not playing because he’s better than Tomi/Z/Mirk… it will be out of necessity, as it was in the 1H vs Maryland

Every. Single. Year. We are so snakebit.

I’m no longer inclined to believe it’s bad luck at this point. Our injury prevention conditioning is not good enough to win at a high level.

I'm not feeling great about this one. While I think we can beat Purdue without Boz if we show out and a few guys go off, but Purdue coming into this game on a loss and us already having the step up while Boz is out game and win, the intangible indicators also line up with leaning Purdue. In fact the only weird indicator I'd have favoring us was the weird -2.5 opening line for Purdue without Boz, so hoping this is one of those true sucker's bets. But overall, this is going to be a really tall mountain to climb in this one.

Here's hoping Z brings the Paign to Mackey and just goes nuclear. 30pts, 10rebs, 10blocks, 3steals with the block at the buzzer to seal it
