Andrej just isn’t good enough for the BIG. Yes, he’s a phenomenal driver, but he’s a slow defender, subpar shooter, careless passer, and a black hole. He needs to come off the bench to find offense when everyone is missing threes, but that’s it.

Took their best shot. Rode Keaton’s back to only trail by 4. Think we keep doing what we are doing limiting their 3 pt attempts.

Will be interesting to see what adjustments are made. If they continue to switch 1-5 I’m putting the ball in Andrej’s hands and bringing Smith’s guy over to set a ball screen and put Smith in jail. Also try and get the ball to Tomi down low. Every time Cluff is switched onto Keaton means we have an advantage down low. Try and score or get 2 to the ball and kick out for 3s.

Sadly maybe that sandfort performance on us in champaign earlier in the season it felt he could of shot from 3 blindfolded and it would of went in but still this performance by wagler is even more impressive considering hes a true freshman that only had 2 other offers

We are down only 4 at the half, with a ragged Illini defense and Purdue shooting lights out while working the refs like a minimum wage job. Also, short handed with Bos out and a hobbled Mirk, these Illini, led by an unbelievable game by Keaton, are still in this and fighting. If we can tighten up on D and Purdue's shooting reverts to the mean, we still have a decent shot at pulling off a massive upset. Go Illini!

Look at the stat sheet (link on first post of this thread). One of the craziest you will ever see. We beat them on the boards so we got 3 more shots off than they did. But they killed us in turnovers and fouls. We were 9 for 21 from the arc while they were 3 of 8.

Our guys finally got it into their heads that they must work their tails off on defense as they were getting made fools of by a pretty shrewd bunch of Boilers who take advantage of EVERY lack of focus by our defenders.

We also saw a concerted effort to step up the rebounding success.

Both of the above are needed and we need to start with frantic effort in the second half. Glad to see us within 4. The Boilers came down to earth after an epic start, but we have to use every advantage we have, coupled with effort and focus.

Lastly, Mackey is certainly a crazy place to try to grab a win. Used to be Bloomington was that way but their string of coaching failures seems to have put the Hoosier fan base into the deep freeze.

We need Keaton to hit 8 more triples this half...he has not been pulling his weight....zero boards and 2 fumbles. ;)
