Game Thread: Illinois at Wake Forest

Love the start and our intensity so far. Sure is nice to see our team come out and play their style and force the opponent to adjust after 10 years of trying to counter-punch.

Looking back now at the first 6 games, you can better appreciate Underwood establishing our depth, giving guys ample minutes, letting a lot of the players get comfortable coming right into the game, knowing their role, and going hard. Coach has done a good job of sculpting an identity for this team.

Just dumb fouls. Feel like I'm watching a bunch of High School Freshman play varsity for the first time.

From my observation, he has a habit of pulling someone scoring out and then put them back quickly. I don't have an idea why.

My guess it was preplanned prior to the game. Often time early substitutions are. Not to say that you don't adjust for the obvious hot hand, but I'm guessing it's a balance between the current situation and the gameplan you have laid out when you had the time to strategize. But what do I know...I ain't the coach!

The foul difference is so distorted, but you can't blame the officials. We just can't stop doing it.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an Illini team play so well and so dumb at the same time. Good lord, we should be up 15 right now. Love our effort though.

bright side is Finke has been out this whole time and we're still dominating them. Clean it up and we should win by double digits. They look like they cannot hang with our pace
