Would a have liked to send some pressure there. Hindsight’s 20/20 I guess.

The issue today is that with a QB this athletic, if you bring pressure and he breaks contain.....big, big plays result. The front four needs to be better, plain and simple.

OK. I have no idea what our defensive objective is. No pass rush. Wide open recievers everywhere. Slow spy on a fast QB.

Exactly … if we’re giving up passes like we don’t even have a secondary, can we at LEAST bring pressure and take our chances at some sacks??

Sadly or the whole season thus far ugh.i was really hoping to see more pressure rather then being man handled.but 1st defensive drive hopefully we can clean things up

We are afraid of their quarterback so our d-line plays contain, leaving our not so good defensive backs helpless.

I'm still floored that it was 3rd & 12 in the redzone and we gave up a TD. It is SOOOO hard to typically score that far out at the goal line. My goodness

Not wrapping up on tackles, one of the most basic defensive skills taught in football, has plagued the Illini for 2 seasons in a row. Our defense feels that just bumping into ball carriers should suffice, and is constantly amazed when it doesn't work.
