For some reason, I'm still in football mode. (Thanks to Bret for that, I guess!) And that probably won't change until the FB coaching positions are filled and we win the bowl game in Tampa.
Still tuned-in to basketball, however. Let's see if we can now build a 6 game winning steak heading into the home game vs Mich State on January 13th.

So when we last saw Illinois they were playing badly vs PSU and being called out by Underwood post-game.
It’s been a few days. I don’t have access to the same kind of daily buzz about the team anymore, living far away from CU and there really being any interest in MBB in Puget Sound (Gonzaga remains popular; UW has almost no interest around the program and their 10,000 stadium is half full for games)
Anyway what happened last week for Illinois and do they look at all like they have improved? Are people still pumped for the season?

A new team working through leadership issues had a letdown after a huge win. Anyone not still wildly pumped for this season is a fool. This team is built for success in March.
He leads the league in pump fakes, especially from 25 ft.
Hawkins just needs to stop trying to be flashy. He is turinng it over too often trying to make plays that just aren't there.
Boggles my mind... He is a good shooter and needs to shoot... When he hit his shots, he much more of a menace to the other team.He leads the league in pump fakes, especially from 25 ft.
Honestly, we are a better team when he is not trying to create shots. I think he has a ton of potential but he cannot create his own shots which I have seen him do too much of lately. I would love to see him as a 12 pts/8 reb kind of guy. Asking for more scoring prowess from him than that is a problem (at least at the present moment).
