I don’t think he’s lacking confidence. I’m glad it went in, but his shot selection on that shot and the entire half was not that of someone lacking confidence.
He really needs to look to be set and balanced and not just looking to get shots up.
He has generally been a positive on defense other than when one of their guards blew by him when we asked him to be the 3 (bad idea).
Pretty evident from the first half that our team has the higher upside. But Bama can shoot from the arc which is always the outlier in college hoops.
Gotta get rid of the silly fouls and turnovers and work hard to execute on every possession. If we can step up the level of competence advantage that is in Illini favor...this could be a 15 pt. final in our favor. Just play the game....don't need ESPN highlights. Make shots, rebound, defend...like you have done it all before. Plenty of guys available to play so go hard and focused.

Tomi is not 100% yet clearly. If Ben had made one more three, we all would have been singing his praises with how he has played defense. Petro is fast and has good vision. I like it. Wagler, Stoja, and Bam are dogs. Mirk puts the fight in Fighting Illini.

I mean Alabama is one of the best offenses in the country and our best defender had to grab the pine. If bama wants to continue taking 28 footers I like our chances. There’s a reason the over under was 181.5 points lol.

They have better athletes than us. I think that's why we're having trouble controlling the boards.
I get that, but a lot of those Alabama offensive rebounds are coming off long misses from 5 feet behind the 3 point line. Those are hard to avoid.

Especially when Alabama rebounds and hits at the other end immediately. Kudos to Ben for his improvements elsewhere in his game but 16% in this game is no bueno.
