Something I think we’re not giving BU enough credit for is we’re running Baylor off the 3 point line — that’s their bread and butter. Sure, they’ve had some decent looks in the paint / a few relatively contested floaters, but looks like we gameplanned them into settling for longer 2s. Big reason we’re still in this one.

This Baylor perimeter D is elite... just nowhere to go. We need to exploit the mismatches we have down low. Our bigs are leaps and bounds better than theirs, hence Giorgi getting anything and everything he wanted, even with Kofi riding the bench. Need to get more post touches and stop looking for an iso situation on the perimeter. Those aren’t ending well.
You are correct. In all honesty, it will probably be the difference maker in this game. (Hope I'm wrong!)

Baylor's defense is no joke. Happy to be neck and neck halfway through.

For me, it's an example of the first half of last year. Inconsistent with Ayo on the ball....everything got better with Trent on the ball. Ayo needs to get the ball in better spots with better matchups. Set better screens, make better passes. Baylor has some long quick guards. Gonna be a tough finish.

Agree with most of what’s been said... but... Curbelo was a turnover machine against cupcakes, and some want Trent benched for AC because of turnovers. This Baylor D is intense - no way AC reduces turnovers vs Trent.

Looks like up top they are taking away Ayo's right hand, forcing him to go left more than he wants, I think that is what is causing him to be out of sync

Curbelo gave us a spark. He is playing well. Only reason he left game was because of 2 fouls. We have 8 tos 4 by trent.

Coaching will be critical here. What will coach dial up for second half? The posters talking about drive and kick for 3s are dead on. We’re about even with them on 3s in first half. Both D’s are taking it away. I like the idea of Curbelo getting more PT and looking for more kick outs. Hopefully Ace, Ayo and DMFW can get some open looks.

Overall pretty happy with half. Baylor is crazy good on D. Will be interesting if Ayo can take it up a notch like we’re used to against this D. Need someone to step up and hit a couple 3s in a row — and hit those free throws guys.

This is an elite defense. Be interesting to see which side adjusts best after the half. Quite a battle so far -enjoying the game!

Miller playing like a frosh with tons of talent in a huge game.....tentative. Ayo just the opposite. Need them both to break through and step up a bit in second half. I have no problem playing Giorgi a bunch in second half with intent to go inside out to shooters if they collapse. Just have to keep turnovers to 2 or less and make 80% from charity in second half to keep me happy. Defensive focus is the only positive I have seen and kept Baylor from going off. Not a great game to watch, but there is a ton of speed, quick hands, and help defense going on from both teams. No one going off with a hot hand but Baylor has more shooters with experience. Nevertheless, pretty much a trading of blows so far with neither team happy with their play.

Ayo is the basketball equivalent of Gale Sayers but they do a great job of icing the ball screens - I think we will adjust.
