Keaton leading the team in offensive rebounds...

Colgate was only down three at the half to MSU, but looks like they ran out of gas down the stretch. They don’t seem like too bad of a team.
Yep, Cox looks terrific and the forward with the slavic name isn't bad either, their lack of depth will likely win this for us unless we start to hit shots like we should

Offense needs to get going more in the second half. Texas Tech hungover perhaps? We're rebounding the hell out of them. We just need to point up points to show for it.

I'm very surprised to see Mihalo not playing

Love Jake, but missing 5 threes in a half is not ideal.
We experienced this multiple times last year. He's the "Humbrickhouse" of THIS game...so far. Expect a much better team in the 2nd half (60+ points). I'll go with him making at least 2 3's (y)

If Jake can't hit threes at a decent clip this year, like at least 35%, he doesn't give us enough in other aspects of his game like defense, passing, and rebounding to warrant more than a few minutes per game, in light of a roster loaded with talent.

What exactly happened for Colgate to get t'd up?
On the other end of the court, when Colgate missed a shot, #22 from Colgate and Mirk got tied up. When #22 was breaking away, it looked like he hit Mirk in the face with an elbow or forearm.

So Andrej got his free throws for when he got fouled and Mirk got his two for the flagrant one.

Not sure why it is not happening, but every guy here who ever wore a uniform and played knows to beat a zone, you cannot just pass it around the perimeter until someone tries to drive, gets cut off, and turns it over. You have to pass the ball inside the zone and things open up immediately for perimeter shooters or cutters. Just work it fast and move the ball inside. quickly. Our guys do not seem to know that for some reason.

With the skills of this team, they should all salivate when they see a zone. Stoja would be the perfect guy to flash into the lane for the entry, or flip it over the point man to him at the free throw line where he is a threat to drive and/or dish to open shooters.

big+ just horrible all around. First we have to pay extra, second and even worse is these media major students get a chance to show their stuff then when they get their interview big+ can’t even get audio turned on for coach interview. Not first time either!
Yep, one of the doesn't know how to pronounce Mirk's first name and the other one doesn't even bother to correct him

41-30 Illini at halftime..........a forgettable 1st half played at a slower pace than we like along with a zone by colgate has got us playing passive and missing shots we normally make......

colgate is defending using a lot of lower body contact to try to slow down our penetration dribble drive to the rim........I expect BU is lighting a fire under the lads arse as I type this..........I guess no MP tonight as I would think BU would have put him in already to speed up our play..........

trap game in between TT and Bama maybe ???

I expect more aggressive play by the Illini and colgate getting in foul trouble and fatigue later this upcoming half ..........

I really really do.........

Maybe Underwood should have hired a new offensive coordinator too

Agree. I think some butt is being chewed in the lockerroom.
