Yeah we ended up with a gimmick Defense to try and stay competitive and it isn't working. AHen might have been better than we thought.

Credit to BB for building an offense that can live with this defense. It's going to be a tough year

I'm a few years sober from drugs and over 5 years sober from alcohol. Does the defense WANT me to relapse?? Because it sure feels like they're trying to get me to numb myself watching them.

The lesson? Illinois football - namely, the defense - is bad for sobriety.

I can't believe Bielema really hired this defensive staff with the idea that "it's hard to prepare for," or that this is "all we can pay for." Didn't he have an NFL coach rumored to be lined up who backed out at the last minute leaving BB scrambling? I believe that is the more likely scenario. I fear he often times lowers his ceiling with some of these moves.

Sounds like a stupid strategy. Why load up on offense when you could have allocated needed money for D?

Game over. Illinois's offense failed to take the lead. 😆 I believe this on the assumption the pathetic defense will still be pathetic.
