Why does our offense stink so bad? What happened? Are we that easy to scout or can we just not shoot anymore?
Just one person's opinion, but I think it's because Underwood gives Curbelo waaay too much latitude to "do what he does." When Curbelo is in, Frazier is suppressed, for whatever reason. When Curbelo was out, the team was much better. He's unpredictable and they don't know what he's going to do next; that's hard to play with. I think the whole transfer portal thing has raised the "fear factor" for coaches and if a player has a big ego and thinks he can go anywhere and play, that is a kind of extortion. I have wondered if that's why Curbelo gets away with so much disorganized, eccentric nonsense on the court.
This game is another example of Illinois just driving fans of Illinois basketball crazy, not fans of individual players only, but fans of the game, the team. Underwood's decisions are puzzling. Looks like we may lose this one if this keeps going the way it has so far and if we do, it seems like a completely un-necessary loss.
