Yeah..intent is only a consideration for Flagrant 1>2 I think. A technical foul is just a tech. foul. Same if he would have slammed it off of the stanchion.

Outscored 17-2 in final minute of first half over our last 6 games. Figure that out for god’s sake.
Put that in a similar category as not winning tips. That's taken a turn for the better lately, maybe finishing the 1st half with a flurry will be next. 🤷‍♂️

Felt and looked like a terrible half for the Illini, but they still hold a 4 point lead at the half.
Best thing to me was Dain. He was much better than he has been lately and we can really use him in spots in this game, IMO. Can't have Hawkins guarding their big guy all 2nd half, he's a load

I have been having quite the love/hate relationship with Domask lately.
Too funny. I was just thinking that.

With CoHawk having upped his overall play and, just as important. his consistency, seems most of my exclamations aimed at TV are Domask related. He has been great overall, but some times arrrrgggghhhh.

Ok, I know TSJ is not "at game speed". To me this is the game to stay with him to get him back. I hope to see him play 15+ in the 2nd half. I see a surprise double/double comeback to spark the Illini 2nd wind of the season

When it comes after the half expired, it absolutely is. Every player on the court knew the time, except for Johnson??? Not buying it; he knew exactly what he was doing. Easy tech, IMO, and the refs obviously agreed.
Yeah you toss it to the refs not to our guy's face
Hope this finally lights a fire under our team

Ehh, I've seen and agreed with plenty of calls that needed to take into account body language. Losing/throwing balls is a big one.

Not that I know my rules well enough to disagree, and expect that you're correct. Just don't see it that way in practice.

Domask needs to be asked to do things that are to to his strengths. Ball handling is not his strength, has been ripped 6-8 times just bringing the ball up the court this year.

Ball movement is so much better with TSJ out. The Illini tend to stand around to see what he will do. We will absolutely need to get TSJ back into the flow of Big Ten games in order to make a deep run in the tourney. Once TSJ is reintegrated seemlessly, we will be scary good again.

Ty currently leading the team in pts, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, and shooting percentage. All with 0 turnovers. Absolutely ridiculous half from him to carry a struggling team to a lead at the half. He was special. Really really special.
Ty has become such an important guy, IMO. He plays tenacious defense and can really get to the basket and get you a bucket when you need one. Free throw shooting is much improved too, so you can have him in the game at crunch time. I think he's an all Big Ten type player by his senior year.
