Smith looked like he wanted to tackle Daily and had to fight real hard not to touch him.

Smith needs to come back next year with a pull up jumper

His shot selection is wack. He passes on good opportunities to drive or pull up, and instead opts for 20+ footers outside the flow of the offense. Kid's head is scrambled these days.

Frazier and Black combined for 2 points. And we're only down 4 at the half.

Deep breaths.

Nothing to lose IMO. Take the risk especially since we were on offense.

I mean I didn't say I agreed with the decision, just the only reason I could think of why. Just to play worst case scenario, what if they called some ticky tack screen or holding foul on Leron on the inbounds? We'd be pretty screwed in the second half.

How did Iowa get to choose the free throw shooter when Cook got hurt? The other team is supposed to choose.

Unfortunately for us in that situation, they took that rule out a few years back.

I've always thought the shooter should be from one of the remaining 4 on the floor when the foul occurred.

10 points in 11 minutes against the worst defense in the Big Ten. Good offensive execution fellas.

I’d love to know what it accomplishes when three guys stand up on top of the key 10 feet apart and pass it between themselves. And then remember we have to shoot when there’s five seconds left on the clock. If then . . . .

Why not sub Leron and Frazier in for the last shot of the half? Bad coaching move on Underwood's part IMO

Exactly what I was thinking. Vesel on the floor in that situation made absolutely no sense.

Our offense for much of that half looked eerily similar to Groce's (lots of standing and then someone forcing a last second contested shot). We make it pretty easy to defend when the 3 guards at the top just stand.

Yep, no one wanted the ball aside from TJL.

Because we don't know how to beat a zone. It's a real easy thing in principle to beat, but we don't execute our normal offense particularly well at times still and I doubt they spend a ton of time in practice going through how to beat a 2-3 zone

Gives them .7 seconds to pick up a 3rd foul. You've seen our luck on inbounds plays, its murphys law with those.
