I was watching a podcast this afternoon and this was the hypothesis: if you beat a two you have to beat a 9.. it's like every other Illinois game that I'm afraid to watch. I just had this calm feeling for Houston and I knew we were going to win I just didn't know how. Now that that's over I don't want Illinois to get relaxed and think Iowa is a pushover because they certainly are not. So play like it's the championship game!! Because if we win this one it's only going to get much much more difficult. The teams that are left don't go up and down in their play. They are consistent. I think we could be Duke but I don't know about Arizona. I mean we beat them once but we had to come back from quite a deficit. Don't want the boys to get overconfident at all. Iowa will not be a doormat.

I am a bundle of nerves...

Then I think, in some of the biggest games of the year... at Purdue... at Nebraska... versus Houston... the team came out and played with remarkable confidence and poise, even the freshmen. We are gonna be ready to play.

Then I go back to being a bundle of nerves

Let’s go. Everybody concentrate! At no point in the game say, “we’ve got this in the bag now”.
They will try to grind Illinois down. Can't let them do that. Even if we get a sizable lead they will claw their way back if you let them and we can't let them. I would suit up for the game but I'm 65 and I have my doubts about what I will be able to contribute.. lol

I love those orange script unis, but I like the white ones, too. I'm happy we left the 1LL1NOIS in Champaign. It won't matter, anyway. KW will be too busy watching the ball go through the net on sweet hesitation step back 3s.
We have too many beautiful uniform kits now to wear the 1LL1NOIS anywhere other except for Ubben in practice….maybe not even that.

Much like a vampire terrorizing a Montenegrin village, Iowa won't be dead until we empty a full clip of silver bullets into them and then bury them with a wooden stake in the heart. No letup, regardless of our lead.
