One thing that's stuck out today is the speed at which RJ thinks the game. He's got a little Belo in him, in that it's a bit out of control at times at this point, but when he settles in he's going to be a heck of a player.

Pace and style should be entirely different over next two games. I have no idea what to expect in Kansas City but can't wait to see how BU shuffles his pieces....it sure won't be easy to get it right every night. Would imagine anyone who is not hustling, defending, boarding, or hitting shots will sit and give someone else a shot. Lots of coaching to do before conference play but I have seldom if ever seen a team with so many players who can be a plus.

We are not scorching the nets this evening.
Yup...42% against a team that has little defensive prowess shows a lot of rushed shots. Once again...a good game for teaching purposes as well as getting guys time on the floor who won't play too much later. But the frosh need to play and BVV is a hero tonight.

That's not how message boarding works. We're either a dynasty when we make a shot or the worst program in the nation when we miss a shot. Only overreactions to those extremes are acceptable around here.
Nah. It's not about "how message boards work", it's like a Facebook page, you're subjected to the posts and content that you choose to be a part of. There are fans of Illinois and there are fans of one play, one game and individual performances. When you're all in, friends, family, Illini in this situation, its win or lose, right or wrong. Theres enough analysts and civilian weirdos that aren't fans that are going to take mad time out of their day to criticize our guys so we our suppose to be the ones that bring positivity and encouragement. We just need separate threads at this point in my own opinion, it'd be nice to get on here during the game and not see people acting like they're NCAA coaches, we expect them to be perfect every game and its ironic because I imagine a good amount of the criticism comes from people that have ran into their own speed bumps in life and some are plain underachievers so what are we really talking about here? It's simple, if you're a fan, be a fan, win or lose. Character.

Kind of sloppy at times, which can be expected in a season opener with 3 starters on the bench, but these men are putting the "Fight" in Fighting Illini. Loving the hustle, ball hawking defense, aggressive rebounding, and overall intensity. Deepest bench of any Illini team in recent memory.
