Giorgi has to work out when to shoot/pass. He didn’t have that option last year. Will be fine.

Now that we’ve come back, it’s clear we’re right there with MSU in conference and will easily win 25+. We’ll cruise to the final 4, which will likely lead to Ayo being taken 1st overall.

Lot of rusty and sloppy basketball that half, combined with Lewis banking in three pointers. But HO-LEE CRAP, Kofi is a game changer from what we’ve seen the last few years. I get this is a tiny Division 2 team, but we just have not had a big like him forever and it’s awesome

Thought we would have seen Verdonk first half ...

Also, whoever said that Lewis wouldn’t continue shooting 83% from 3, you were correct. 71.4%

So if we apply the “it’s just early season rust” to our bad start then Lewis is already in mid season form?

I say panic.

Way too early observations

1. Lewis is pretty good
2. Kofi appears as advertised
3. Good scoring balance for us

Kofi is much better than advertised IMO. I think when we get to conference play, the best teams will try to deny him the ball, and the entry passes will need to be much better than what we've seen. That said, wow...just wow. He's shown really good hands and body control grabbing the passes they've lobbed in there.

Please elaborate,, you mean he looked frustrated? Or is someone of lesser stature pushing him around?

a few times he got pushed, slapped, and twice he brought the ball down to his waist. Both times the smaller player stole it. Neither time did the hand slap get called.

Please, more posts about the actual game. This is my only source for info.
Short story is tentative and nervous start to the game (first 15 mins). Could not make free throws, turned the ball over (2 questionable travels on GB), missing 3s, and struggling against a mostly aggressive zone defense. Lewis was pretty much making everything when they didn't turn it over.

Their offense is to drive to draw help and try to bounce pass a short dump to a cutter or the player left alone from the help. Or, trying to kick out for a 3. We've gotten smart about the short dump bounce pass and have now stolen a few, or Lewis threw to no one at home.

Trent started some of the comeback with a few 3s. GB and KC are doing some nice high low plays. Kofi is playing pretty well for his first game under the lights. He's being a bit too nice in that he really should be just shedding some of the Lewis guys ala GB. He'll learn.
