Hoping Tomi can get some good time and show what a difference the last few days of practice and recovery have helped. Need him as close to normal by UConn.

Hopefully we see Tomi getting extended run today. He (nor Z) belonged on the court vs. Bama.

For the first time IMO, we clearly saw why Z had limited (and sporadic) minutes at UK/Arkansas. Just an embarrassing soft effort. These guys are 22 years old. The young/inexperienced isn't going to fly anymore. Particularly when the guys doing it to them are years younger. Hell of a game by the Bama bigs (particularly Bristow and Bol Bowen). Was the difference. They were tougher, stronger, quicker. Go rewatch and they have 6'10-6'11 guys that can do a great job containing quicker guards on the perimeter.

REALLY hope we get to see extended zone defense today. Games like this are perfect to practice. Will help Tomi/Z from trying to cover those high screens on the perimeter and they get put on rollerskates vs. quicker top tier offenses. I think both would thrive in zone concept and being able to use their size patrol the paint on D and cut off driving lanes (vs. being targeted by teams on the perimeter on high screens). Good teams, like Bama, will literally target that everytime as they did with an Ivisic brother was out there. Scheduling these tough early games is great. But it is only useful if you learn and make the necessary adjustments now and down the road.

As for the brothers I'll make my judgements after both are healthy for a few consecutive games...

All of our guys might be okay to play, but from what I saw against Alabama, we've got quite a ways to go before we're all actually healthy. Both Ivisic twins didn't look anywhere close to right and Petrovic could barely do anything when he was in the game.

It's time to build some rhythm and chemistry before the schedule gets serious again next week. Hoping we come out focused and ready to get some quality reps in.
