I am getting whiplash. First BU should be fired for playing DMW over Griffin, then Griffin is killing us.
Not a good game for us. Shots going in for Miami.

I don’t like knocking individual players - this is a team sport. I hate dan dakish, but he does have a point on why we aren’t pressuring, I have said this since we went down 20 in the first half. Not sure what this coaching staff is trying to do? I mean I’m still watching and pulling for us, but dang they are getting out hustled and that’s on the coaching staff and preparing them for screens and helping

You nailed it. I felt the same way. I wanted to blame somebody specific, but you can't. The blame needs to be equally distributed. BU is the head coach, do he'll deservedly get the roasting, but in reality.....the whole locker room earned this one.
Illini now over 50% from the field...and down 13.

The start we had today and the effort we came out with is unacceptable
If you want to put a positive spin on this, you can say that we're +14 once the effort kicked in. This should have been a comfortable W.

The worrisome thing here...we follow this game by playing Maryland, and then Michigan.
I am underwhelmed with our offensive scheme. We have so many players moving with no purpose and since they are moving they are not ready to shoot. Most offenses these days look for opportunities to drive to score or create double team or help then kick to someone for shot or drive opportunity. We are running the globetrotters weave and our lead guard has a tough time creating space and pushes with his off arm in traffic.
Yeah, a 20-2 run within the first 10 minutes, generally doesn't bode well.
To me, the biggest advantage for Miami...other than hitting every shot....is that the guy Kofi is guarding has taken him away from the hoop due to his shooting from distance. I love bigs who can shoot from the top of the key as well as play smart under the basket.

I actually am more ticked at the defense(both set and in transition) than I am about the offense. Defense is a byproduct of effort and heart. That's my beef.
Offense can be hit or miss, but defense is always the one constant.
Hope springs eternal......
