I have watched a lot of Illinois basketball over the years and I don’t remember a team quitting like this before.

Not under Brad, not under Groce, not under Weber. Certainly not under Self.

Our worst half of basketball in a decade?

This team is not what we thought. It's a failed experiment in navigation of the portal at this point. Hope it changes, but this is three straight games (against sub par teams) with no leadership, no continuity and no identity. So what is the road to correction?

I haven't seen an Illinois team with this level of disengagement since Weber's last year - the game at Purdue. I was there and watched our team completely ignore him.

I do wonder come March if we’ll look back at the inflection point of Underwood absolutely dogging his team in a post-game press conference after losing to Penn St. (warranted, but it was also 1 game) and wonder if he created a locker room issue. Because things look like they have absolutely gotten worse from that point on.

I’m just not sure this team can survive on our 3 point shooting. Everyone feels like we are built for March and on paper we should be, but these guys better be a whole lot better shooting by then or we are in for disappointment again.

But it’s another case where every three Miznoz throws up goes in.
