Just because they have ok looks doesn't mean Dain in the post would cause major issues. Id be fine going inside out for better looks. I think Dain taking some of those shots we are missing from 3 and we would be up 10.

If you had told me before the game that we would be up by 1 at halftime, I wouldn't have liked that at all. If you had told me after falling behind 9-0 that we would be up by 1 at halftime, I would take that.

11.5 point favorite and up one at half. Blah. Had a chance to separate but trademark sub-100 KP level Illini defense keeps teams into games.
I’m not surprised what I’m seeing from Morehead St. We’re a bit lucky their three point ace Thomas isn’t getting more looks but a bit unlucky that their point guard is converting so well. These mid majors with senior point guards, a go to guy, a secondary go to guy and good three point shooters are annoying for a reason. For god’s sake though, stop beating yourself with unforced turnovers and gambling for steals to give them open looks.

In fairness, games like this are these mid-major teams' Super Bowls. They tend to turn it up a notch and we don't always follow suit.
There's still no reason we shouldn't bury this team.

13 pts. off the bench gets all the credit for backing TSJr. up. Morehead played well. We did not play badly...except for some poor turnovers. Tough to build a lead against any team shooting the numbers MSU is shooting...but they did have a dry spell and we spurted past to take the lead. Let's hope our conditioning can pay off.
I expect the rested MSU shooters to hit shots to start the second half...let's hope they have to work their tails off to get them from tenacious Illini defenders.

I can't watch the game as I am at work. I glace over at the ESPN Gamecast every once in a while. Can anyone tell me why the Illini are not taking the ball inside more often? Except for Miles they are bigger and I would assume stronger than MSU. I see they are shooting 40% from behind the arc but with 16 points in the paint I would think they could feast in there. It's a little frustrating when it seems as if the 3 is their go to play many times. Only 15 seconds into a set and they are putting up a shot, missing and then going back on defense. It would be a little more tolerable if they had more offensive rebounds but they only have 4.
I'm saying this tongue in cheek, but yes, I agree with you that if they take a big lead on us in the second half.....it'll be an issue. Way to drill down.

Losing on Saturday and failing to make the Second Weekend would be really disappointing. Losing today would simply be an unacceptable way to end this season, period.

Keep doing this but either get rebounds OR draw fouls OR stop missing at the rim OR stop settling for threes in general .. and this one is done even if Morehead heats up.

Should have attacked their 2 best players who both have 2 fouls. Instead they kind of goaded us into taking 3s. Don’t settle. Attack.
DGL helped. They are doubling Marcus because Ty and others can't shoot.
