Make a free throw. Shooting has hot and cold streaks, I get it, but free throws never should.

Not a good half. Need to redeem and have a better second half. Free throws have helped Illinois stay within distance. Need to box out and rebound better too.

I am listening to the game on the radio. At one point Barnhart and Deon quoted that n Kentucky is out rebounding us by 10. That is absolutely ridiculous. With hensons teams, selfs teams, no matter what they rebounded. I don't understand why groce doesn't emphasize this.

Relax everyone. This is just a case of early season rust. Happens to every team. Kentucky was struggling with Canisius last I checked. Our boys know they've got a good team this year and they know what's at stake. We'll be fine. Shake off the rust, hit a few shots and get some stops to start off the 2nd half and I think we'll pull away and win this by 15+

It seems to happen to Illinois every year under John Groce. North Florida last year, near Chicago State loss?

It happens to every team. While it does seem like our guys aren't giving it their all tonight I'm not too concerned. 2nd regular season game of the year, still missing Leron. It sucks but we'll be fine. This team knows they're good, now they need to prove it to us.

Man defense definitely needs a lot of work. But a lot of it has to do with effort and getting to your spots. Not doing that.
