They did? Wow, I heard the opposite.?? Maryland beat Rutgers earlier today.
Rutgers lost?Doesn't help the Rutgers is winning.
EDIT: Robert over at Illiniboard.com had a good write up about it earlier in the week
Thanks. Weird.Check out the Bowl thread. It appears our fate will be decided by the 5-6 key (highlighted) games being played this evening.
Rutgers lost, which burns us. Maryland walks into Bowl eligibility at 6-6.Rutgers lost?
I had it completely mixed up! Jeez...maybe I should put the tequila awayRutgers lost, which burns us. Maryland walks into Bowl eligibility at 6-6.
* A 5-7 Rutgers team has the tie-breaker over a 5-7 Illini team.
* A 5-7 Illini team would have had the tie-breaker over a 5-7 MD team.
5-7 teams aren’t determined by its breakers. they are determined by a stat called academic progress rate. Rutgers is ahead of Illinois, but Illinois is ahead of Maryland. So, Rutgers was ahead of Illinois regardless. Therefore, he really wanted Rutgers to win to keep Maryland behind us.Rutgers lost, which burns us. Maryland walks into Bowl eligibility at 6-6.

I'm pretty sure APR is what he was going by as the tiebreaker.5-7 teams aren’t determined by its breakers. they are determined by a stat called academic progress rate. That makes sense. Duh. Specially since Illinois lost to Maryland, and would hold no other tiebreaker over them. My badI'm pretty sure APR is what he was going by as the tiebreaker.
Correct. New/updated APR being issued next week (per Dan's earlier post today). Big 10 normally fairs very well.I'm pretty sure APR is what he was going by as the tiebreaker.
Helmet to helmet has never been an NCAA penalty.That was helmet to helmet. He's gotta be disqualified.
Illinois doesn’t really have a back up quarterback… The only real one we have is currently injured.I'd be a little ticked if I was a backup qb. How much of a game out of reach for others to play?

I know he is probably a pipe dream but we couldn't have picked a better time to show out with Mpemba in da house!The recruits on campus must like this.
