It would be amazing for Ty to rejoin but how does that make sense, for him and for the team? What does that look like reintegrating him AND Bam into this system that is running on a historical level?
Indeed, with so much of the season complete, he might as well sit this one out to get another full year of eligibility, which apparently is close to unlimited if you play your cards right these days

Injuries and fouls can be unpredictable. Unless we’re trying to maximize another year of eligibility, the sooner you could find opportunities for him to adjust and shake the rust off, the better positioned we are to put him in there in high leverage situations.

If that’s what HE wants, sure. But even if he had three years of eligibility because we ref shirted him again, in today’s environment he may be transferring somewhere else with those additional years. If he’s itching to play and he’s ready, I would be all for it. Kid would probably get so much love and support for making it all the way back from the staff, his teammates and fans. Good feels.

Normally I'd agree with this, but this year is different. He would be the best defensive insurance for the tournament. If it comes down to him losing a year of eligibility to win a Natty, I don't think he will hesitate! It's not like there wouldn't be ample donations to make up for lost NIL 🤑*

*Is it okay to use this again? It brings back nightmares of "what could've been"*

If he didn’t leave last year, you can almost guarantee he is O&B for life…

I agree. Why even mess with it? Let him heal up 100%, get all of his S & C in over the spring/summer and be ready to be a leader when the squad comes together in October.

Oh.....no pickup games with his buddies! This is a topic for a different day, but at what point are extracurricular activities(like playing pick-up games) going to be held against the player? Does Ty get paid for redshirting?

If he’s itching to play and he’s ready, I would be all for it. Kid would absolutely get so much love and support ($) for making it all the way back from the staff, his teammates and fans. Good feels.

Let the MSU at Minnesota game remind you to be satisfied with a win, jubilant with a blowout, and, only, upset with an “upset”.

Purdue just had a 3 game trip up,
Nebby just had a 2 game trip up,
Mich St just had a 1 game trip up.
It would be so botox Chrissy to hand us a 1 game trip up.
Don't let it happen!!

Because sometimes it's not about the extra year or the money? I can't speak for Ty, but I know when I was in my 5th year at U of I, I felt old as hell and just wanted to graduate and move on. I also know that when I was in high school I partially tore my Achilles and was told to rest it for 3 months and I was shutdown for the season. The thing is, that year, we qualified for the playoffs for the first time. So guess who was "magically healed" a couple weeks later? I wanted to play in that playoff game so bad, help my team win, I told my coach the doctors cleared me. I knew full well I shouldn't be playing. It was stupid. Every single time my foot hit the ground it felt like a jackhammer traveling up to my spine. But I played.

So what's the point of me saying all this? If Ty thinks this is his chance to win a Natty. To help the team do it, be a part of it, and would give up everything to do so, even if it means not playing another year of college ball or getting NIL, then who are we to tell him not to?
