If we can play like the last 8 minutes of that half for 20-30 minutes per game..........there's hope yet for this season.

This is the team that has potential, the offense is being spread around, Trent is still our savior all too often...Feliz and really just about the whole team is playing much better defense all around. Overall, I think they are playing Ohio State better so far than they played Gonzaga really. Guards is the reason...continue to break down CJ and we will have a very good chance for the win...Giorgi actually negates Wesson for most part, and their wings are nothing special either. Good for our guys for getting ready and actually performing the gameplan!

Teams are shooting identical percentages from 2 and 3, we've out rebounded them, we have committed fewer fouls.

That one was on Kipper not Giorgi...Giorgi is actually trying to stay out of trouble it seems. He got lucky on the block, it was clean, but could have easily been called as well....they usually do since the refs anticipate the contact.

I hope that we do NOT see a repeat of the following standard second half scenario:
  • Illini start second half settling for long jumpers
  • Shooting goes cold
  • Scoreless for 6+ minutes
  • opponent takes double digit lead
  • Illini mount furious comeback in last few minutes
  • But not enough to win in the end

P.S. I continue to be amazed and impressed by how effective Giorgi is as a freshman. Biggest surprise on the team by a mile. And boy, does this team ever need what he's bringing.

Team is playing with a lot of intensity and making things happen right now. Hopefully they can keep it up in the second half. Have the luxury of sitting courtside and one thing is even more apparent now than on TV . We simply dont have the size and athleticism required to make some plays. This will be a problem all year. But tonight we win. 72-70
