Something I think a lot of people are missing: having Trent back on the floor is going to affect their O a good deal. TF went out mid-way through the 1st half after they had like 8 points in 11 minutes. With TF, it’s often causation, not correlation. He was locked in.

EDIT: that said, I worry about our defense when Trent isn’t playing ~40 mins a game.

Gotta think there’s some mean regression coming for Kofi and Kyle Young this half. Maybe Kofi will get the Liddell treatment from the refs this half?

No chance Kofi gets anything from these 3 clowns officiating the game. Hopefully the horseshoe falls out of Kyle Youngs a$$ at half time.

He better or they're going to lose. He can't finish on the offensive end and Young is torching him on the defensive end.

Never felt worse about a half of basketball in which we never trailed

So, you've "never felt worse"....but Kofi normally shoots 65% from the field and went 4-12.. and was fouled almost every time....pretty much has his way?

I feel really good about that half. OSU gets crazy half from a bench player and several gift calls. Plus a break with a dumb play by DMFW.
We are playing hard on D and Liddell is a non factor.

Not much to feel bad about execution-wise. We are very clearly the better team. Take care of business with an average half from Kofi and we win by 10.

Edit: not to mention 8 or 9 minutes with no Trent.

Also, figure in a couple of really bad, odd sequences that kept OSU close... The DMFW KO and the weird goaltending possession.
Liked Goode getting to the glass in the first, Trent on D, and CoHawk with some aggressiveness on O and some great passing
Oh and that dominant eruption by Plummer was pretty too.

Kofi missed 427 bunnies, and a nobody bench player went 5/5. I think we're gonna be ok.

I wouldn't call him a nobody bench player unless you only occasionally watch NCAA bball. He has been a very solid player for nearly a decade. I'd take him in a split second

One thing I've noticed is that Plummer doesn't seem to shoot as well in the 2nd half once fatigue sets in. Can't rely on him for points

The stats don’t show it, but I love Hawkins’ game. He flows well with the offense, high energy defense, he has great skills, size and effort. He’s a guy I can see breaking out and being a real pain in opponents’ asses.

Learch (the tall bald official) will never call a foul against Ohio St, but any contact down low is a foul against the Illini. BTW, he'll fake call a foul after another official call a foul on Ohio St. He has always been against the Illini. Give me TV Ted instead of Learch

Yeah, a lot of factors that show we should win the game. But we should be up big and this Buckeye team scares me.

It's pretty darn frustrating we're only up by 1. Plummer 6/7 from 3, but Kofi only 4/12. Nobody else with more than 2 points. Meanwhile, Kyle Young is, of course, killing us. The good news is we're rebounding well again. Gotta clamp down on d in the second half.

Yep…other bright spots…Hawk and Belo playing under control and within themselves. Plummer is drain-O, obviously. …Our overall hustle/effort…i.e. diving for loose balls and such is decent…not the best I’ve seen from us…but there’s
signs off life.

Can’t hit the bunnies to save our life. I dunno why we aren’t stepping into the gaps and spotting up on the perimeter…like Goode for ex. on that last Belo drive.

The refs have nothing to do with anything. He's been like Charmin with the ball under the basket. They're letting them play physical inside, which SHOULD be an advantage for Kofi. He just can't make a layup today. The 4 of 12, really should be 8 of 12, at least. Those were point blank misses.
