Game Thread: Illinois vs Oregon

[Marshall_Lucky]

Shoot

[NASchamp]

Announcer jinx strikes again

[Leelnd]

Should have been PI in that.

[TheFlyingIllini1317]

Guy is holding Dixon's arms down!

[ChiefGritty]

Gosh. Tight window throw, trying to take a chance

[Illini2010-11]

A lot of hand checking, but I am ok with the no call (as long as they allow that on our defensive side). Need another stop now!

[FloridaMan]

I understand we need to mix up playcalls but I'd probably make them prove they can stop our running game before throwing 30 yarders.

[SuperMetroid]

Lotta contact on that one

[DeonThomas]

Not horrible on 3rd down....

[eas23]

Either he yanked on him before the ball arrived, or Collin Dixon knows how to teleport.

[Ryllini]

Freshman. Oh well, I came to see this defense.

[Illini4Christ]

The ball was there but Dixon couldn’t get his hands up because of the defender had them locked down.

Honestly was okay with the third down call there.

The second down call, I didn’t love

[New Creation]

will a call go our way?

[Second place is 1st loser]

Clayton absolutely stares down his target, which isn't uncommon for a kid, but it needs to be corrected immediately.

[ChiefGritty]

That's a ridiculous overturn frankly.

But I know Oregonians, and they will be way more upset about the mispronunciation of their name

[FloridaMan]

We caught a break from the replay officials???? Are cats and dogs now getting along? Are pigs flying through the central IL skies??????

You think so?

That still shot looked pretty clearly ball resting on the turf to me

[TheFlyingIllini1317]

Have to go up two possessions, finish this!

[DeonThomas]

Two more defensive stops and we can declare the 3-3-5 a raging success --- and something that other Power 4 teams across the country will be emulating in 2027.

[CDRUSN]

Clayton lacks both a quick release, and the field vision to recognize the open receiver and deliver him the ball in stride. The kid is a competitor though, but our ceiling will be limited while he is going through his growing pains. Still, this game is winnable if our defense continues to get stops.

It clearly bounced. Great shot of it on replay.

[Jimbo]

Got the interception yards back on one play. Tighten up/

[TheChief4Life]

Ugh…. I fear our defense will regress to their mean.
