Game Thread: Illinois vs Purdue

Playing simple Purdue is the better team and we are not ready for prime time

I made a comment about not liking the Chase Heisman pose earlier in the thread.

This last 2 weeks was the most Illini thing that has ever happened. I stupidly allowed my heart to think that we were pretty good, which is causing this heartache now. On to bball season. :'(

Our coordinators have film on them, and adjustments have been made by how teams play us, and they have not in in turn made the necessary adjustments to that.

Purdue has to play powerhouses Indiana and Northwestern the next two weeks.

Sigh... This sadly feels all too familiar. Undisciplined play, backbreaking calls, and continuous missed opportunities. We had a much better season than I ever expected, but what a sad day.

That right there is the ball game. Sure officiating was awful, but the Boilermakers also flat dominated the lines of scrimmage and outplayed the Illini. Disappointing.

bad officiating as usual, but it didnt cost us the game. they beat us on both sides of the ball

I can safely say the last bit of sitting in Memorial Stadium was truly awful … could have clinched Indy today with HALF as good of defense as we normally play.
