That’s what my wife and we’re discussing this morning on the way to the game. If you look at it from the end of the season, just the record point of view, we would’ve been thrilled to have been told that we were 8-4. It’s just that in real time, the way some of these losses have happened has been extremely depressing.
Things change though. 8-4 with this team and this weak schedule will not look as good when the season ends.

So we declined to have them kick from the 20 last time, but are doing it this time instead of making the extra point longer?
I think the ref got the team name wrong twice on that previous kickoff penalty announcement. I think it was a block in the back on us, and PU chose to keep the touchback

Is this 2011 all over again? Get off to a great start and then just fade.

honestly we beat a ton of backup qbs. imagine if that qb from Nebraska did not get injured, we would've gotten destroyed. Minnesotas qb was also injured in the 4th where they could've won. embarrassment and now we see how we lost to Indiana, that loss was not a fluke

THE most frustrating thing about IU, MSU, and PU is that these are all games we should be able to win, but are crapping all over ourselves

Biggest issue today has been lack of a pass rush. Can’t give him all day to throw.

Time to dial up some blitzes. Still plenty of time and we get the wind in the 4th.

That blown call on the pick was a killer. We need to open it up more the offense is a bit to conservative today. Purdues D is playing the run well today

Waters defense is getting worked today but they do have some injuries

Part of the reason why I said attendance would be low today. It's going to take time before fans truly believe.
I love the enthusiasm from Bret and the program for sure. Just expected a little more fire and urgency from the players and coaches. We have 20 minutes left and need to fight for this division.

Purdue receivers are making some tough contested catches, and the Illini have been plagued by too many uncontested drops. Their lines are pushing ours around too often. Now is the time to dig down deep and play for the Division championship. Recent Illini teams would fold about now. I think this team has the wherewithal to assert themselves, but it must start now.

I don’t care what we expected at the beginning of the year, dropping these two games would be an unmitigated disaster and any saltiness/criticism is warranted
Everyone is saying program is improving greatly. Well expectations are growing as well. Unfortunately, disappointments are too.

That makes the most sense, because it seemed Purdue declined the penalty, not us. But then that penalty should have put us back further so don't know why they would decline it.
