I'm not sure you fully grasp how bad the Purdue offense is.
My son (PU alum, not an insider) told.me Walters took it over this week.
That explains why they aren't running up the middle every single play and gaining 8 like they should be doing.

Why do I feel like AL is our 4th running back based on the games this year. The others must fumble in practice or miss pass blocking consistently.. I just don’t see what the staff see in AL..
