Everybody have another Bud Light and calm down. Both the fans and players have sleep walked through the entire 1st half and we’re tied. If we come out with energy we’ll be fine. We showed it at the end of the half to psych Rutgers out of going for it on 4th down. Don’t panic yet.

Last week Rutgers went into the half tied 21-21 against Liberty. I'm not even sure what "Liberty" is. I assume it's a college. In any case, so far today we're Liberty. The rest of the B1G (a noted power-5 conference) is absolutely thrashing this Rutgers team 207-14.

Don’t blame this on fans. This program has spent the last 30 years sucking for the most part and any little bit of hope is immediately trampled usually in a home loss against a crap opponent. We’ve seen this act before and know what’s coming.

They said never believe that fans coming out doesn't effect a game. It absolutely does. It's no good when a fan sitting on section 101 can have a conversation with a person sitting in section 106. Sluggish.
This game is quite humiliating atm, I imagine most of the Illini faithful know how embarrassing that first half was. I know how bad I'm feeling right now, I can't imagine what the folks sitting on those cold bleachers in 45 degree weather are feeling right now. Fans feeling apathetic is perfectly understandable.

We need to punch them in the mouth to open this quarter.

It's not just that we've been bad, no team humiliates it's fans more than this one. Think about coming off our Rose Bowl appearance in 2007, Going 5-7 and 3-9 the following years. Think about the 2010 team, crushing Indiana and purdue, then Giving up 67 to a Michigan team that wasn't any better than the one's we'd just beaten. Think of 2011, becoming the first team to win it's first 6 then lose it's last six. Think of 2012, we had one of the best d's in the conference in 2011, but Beckman immediately ruined it with his scheme change, and we wasted all that talent on the d-line. Any time this team looks like it might be rounding the corner, they embarrass you in the worst way imaginable. The know last 7 or so years of have just been plain ol bad, but it's the false positives that really kill your enthusiasm.

You expounded on my post excellently. My fingers are numb in the cold so couldn’t get out quite as much.

This is a case where neither the Rutgers coaching staff nor the Illinois coaching staff believes that Peters is capable of making a play.

When do you give Robinson a chance? I don’t think either of the victories the last two weeks have really been due to Peters doing anything amazing. Just pretty average.
