Pikiell, come get ya boys. They're on the wrong court tonight.
AC is likely to never be a dependable shooter from the arc. But if you ever saw the tape last year of Grandison hitting about 40 consecutive shots from the arc, you would know that he is just as good and dependable as Plummer. The stats and BU will confirm that...give him a call. The rest of the team is ok and likely has the green light when open, but those two are elite. Grandy shoots from the floor though in kind of a set shot like DFW but quicker process than DaMonte. If he had a a quick, elevated, high release like JJ Reddick, he would be in the pros now...but that may never develop.Impressive half despite the turnovers. My #1 observation = we just might have an inside/out game this year. It's appearing like Plummer, Jake, Trent, Goode, and RJ can provide that 3 pt presence. (Not yet convinced about Jake and AC.)
Podz can't redshirt.Would like to see podz get some playing time in the second half unless some of the redshirt speculation is true. Either way, keep up the energy and good play in the second half. Go illini!
He's great, phenomenal exemplar of an everyday guy, more glue than Elmer's, but Frank was nearly always the best guy on the court. Two different dudes, different eras, and definitely different roles. DMFW and Lucas Johnson are probably better comps than dad and son.You guys are forgetting how frustrating Frank was on defense and effort sometimes. I'm honestly not sure anymore. Damonte does everything except create his own shot. He's a fantastic college basketball player.
I missed that. Thank you for the infoWe were told (on here) earlier this season that 1 minute in 1 game eliminates redshirt eligibility.
If true, Podz is not eligible.
Has Mulcahy made a shot tonight?
Half way there with 2 so far.Kofi with 4 assists tonight. Wait for it....
Half way there with 2 so far.
Perfect comp. I was at Illinois when Frank and Lucas were there. DMFW and Lucas do things that don't necessarily show up on the stat sheet. Damonte has a really high basketball IQ. I love the guy. He's great, phenomenal exemplar of an everyday guy, more glue than Elmer's, but Frank was nearly always the best guy on the court. Two different dudes, different eras, and definitely different roles. DMFW and Lucas Johnson are probably better comps than dad and son.
