Wasn't sure what to think when I saw the line on the game favoring Illinois by 39.5. SIU has 2 wins to our 1. I personally would have shortened the line to more like 12 to 15 points given our disappointing play against Duke last weekend. But with the fellas up 14 now I'm feeling more optimistic. I'm hoping Bielema and the coaching staff have fixed the bugs from last week's contest - we'll need everything firing on all pistons facing OSU for the Big Ten opener. Oh, and I saw another post elsewhere saying Altmyer was at the game, so HI, LUKE!!!! 👍👍👍

I said earlier, SIU's corners are very physical. They may be weak if you go deep.

Yep. They handle Dixon well on short passes, not on long.

Dixon is putting up some numbers. I want to see us be able to pound the ball. If we can't run it against these goofs...... we've got troubles.

We know Dixon can cook these corners. Let's see the TE's get involved, be able to run it between the tackles when they know it's coming, etc. We know Dixon can play. He'll be playing on Sundays. The issue in the 2nd half last week was Hauser couldn't/wouldn't look in another direction and they shadowed Colin the whole half. Our offense shut down.

Houser to Dixon again. This is not a hot take. Illinois will have a potential Heisman and potential Fred Biletnikoff candidate this season. That combination is unstoppable.

Also, another week in and I'm thinking Houser is starting to put himself into serious contention as an early round/first round QB.
