yeah I do hope we get a bit more lock down defensive on Texas' 3 point attempts. Some of the Texas guys were shooting 3s with ease. But as of right now I'm just nitpicking and need to realize we're going up against #2 Texas in Madison Square Garden so don't mind me!

Sencire's straight up d is elite but he can be slow on the switch and is leaving space for texas to get shots off

Seems we should get used to it. As much depth and talent as this group brings to the table, opposing coaches will scheme against what they saw in the most recent game. But the versatility of the team is so vast that there will always be an advantage to be exploited every game. Can't stop everything the Illini can do. And you cannot stop the intensity and nightmare their defense can bring.

Obviously there is much to like in this half and some things that were scary. What I liked was that SH made a free throw and DD made TWO!!!! Sadly, the best shooter of the frosh, JE, missed one.

Now, take care of the ball next half (5 or less), keep up the defensive effort (SH minutes), execute the shots that are taken with confidence and without rushing, and this will be a win.

And please.... hoops gods... give our Illini a break for the first time in history!!!! (Don't dare call me paranoid)

Remember: they have to face *us* in the 2nd half. This is a case where "past results do not indicate future performance" does not necessarily apply. Also, Meyer. Also, TSJ. Also, Dain, Hawkins, and pretty much the whole crew, minus Curbelo and the guy who plays at Duke.

Freshmen guards still look a little unsure with the ball/offense. Need to get into a rhythm and flow and execute some passes with confidence.
