I just keep thinking about how we were the juggernaut, or the "best team" in 89 and 05.

UConn's pucker factor is higher than ours.
Even better their fanbase thinks they’re unbeatable from what I’ve seen.

I did as much as I could to stay busy today and keep my mind off the game. Now the nerves are starting to hit me. There is no shame in losing to UConn and that is the most likely outcome today. But we can still beat them on any given day, and today might be that day. Whatever happens, it has been a great season. If we're lucky, it may continue into April.

Not putting a crown on them necessarily, just giving my observations. Their offense is about as perfectly assembled as one can be at this particular level, and it's honestly kind of pretty to watch. Unlike a team like that Kentucky team that fell to Wisconsin, where for all their crazy size and athleticism, it was known shooting was a weakness (confusing in hindsight why Devin Booker wasn't a starter), I don't really see any weaknesses for them. Nitpick of nitpick would be if Newton and Castle were even just a little more efficient on threes (32.4 % -> 35 % for Newton, and 27 % -> 33 % on lower volume for Castle) that would boost them from 36.2 % as a team on threes to 37.2 %, which is the difference between 54th in the nation in terms of three point % to 20th. If they lose, it's likely because they have an off night shooting wise, like they did against Creighton in their loss on 2/20 (last loss of the season). They had a very poor three point effort against Northwestern, but they can beat you in so many ways.

Any team can get upset, not doubting that. Even if they do though, they are still a historically good team from my point of view and better than the one that won the tournament last season.

I’m going to predict a disappointing game. A great season comes to a resounding end, 91-76, uconn. But again, a great year by anyone’s standards.

Jarrett and Shows work a lot in the ACC and SEC. Shows worked the 2011 NCAA championship game. Jarrett also works in the Big 12. Oglesby worked the national championship game last season. Appears to be a high quality, veteran crew.
