Ya know, this team had a pretty good season. They won the conference tourney, made it to the Sweet 16. UConn can't take any of that away.

But it's gonna take a few days for the stink from this one to go away.

No matter what, this season was great. First elite 8 appearance in 19 years when Illinois was barely even in the top 25 to start the season.

Ugly loss to end it on but a lot to build off of heading into portal season and with a top 50 recruit coming in next season.

It's just one game, and even though it's going to end the season on a sour note, still very pleased with how we performed this season. It would have been nice to make a Final Four for recruiting purposes, but we were placed in the "region of death." UCONN is no joke, and we simply didn't have an answer for them.

Agree with this post. If we had only not given away several games earlier in the season( Penn St, MSU, NW) we would have been seeded higher and at least avoided U Conn until the final 4. A shame to have wasted TSJ's unique talent on this debacle. Not sure why we weren't trying to front Klingan instead of playing behind him and raking him when he put the ball on the floor in the lane.

I mean, some if this is self-inflected. We went cold from the floor, including wide open threes, and it snowballed until the team was demoralized.
