Game Thread: Illinois vs UConn

I thought in my 56 years I had seen the Illini lose every way possible. I was wrong.

BU's tendency to not call TO's until way too many points have run up against us is not a good coaching strength. QG was liability most of the year- one of our worst defenders, FT shooter and really not much help at all on offense. Ty not prepared to play this game- deer in headlights. He needs to shoot 1000 jumpers/day.
Still was an entertaining year. Gonna miss TSJ, MD and even CH.

Bad game against the best team in the country. It happens.

These guys have been the most fun, energetic, passionate team we’ve had wearing the jersey in 20 years. Will love them and thank them even if we don’t score another point the rest of this game.

We had NO answer for Klingon. We could n t get any fouls and that broke us.

We didn't have an answer for Edey, either. The only hope was drawing fouls and/or making up ground when he sat and we did one of those things, but only in the first half.

What I hate most: this is our biggest/ most visible game in 19 years and we’re getting punk’d.

UConn is damn good and they have completely overwhelmed us. Very likely to win it all, but I wouldn’t have expected this in 1000 years.

Well, I would love a Domask waiver, Hawkins to get a big NIL , and hit the portal hard the next couple weeks. Its been a good year inspite of this loss. Great to see Amani do well and get some confidence. UConn will likely win it all.
