I don't know what this offense is, buts it's not working against good competition. I know, I know, they have had really good offense the last 3 years under little Underwood. But it doesnt seem to work against good teams.

I think you're making yourself feel better and self soothing. I was doing the same thing last year. Practice isn't going to fix the issues that have the ceiling on this team. Mirk is lost because he doesn't belong on the floor athletically. He's a roll guy that's playing heavy minutes. Not his fault.

The Alabama game and this game have to make one thing clear. You just can't run out a bunch of skilled, unathletic guys in major college basketball and expect to contend for a Final Four. I'm all in favor of having skill. We saw what happened with Houston last year when they finally met a team that was skilled. But this roster construction isn't going to work. Even Florida, who has a similar mindset to Illinois when it comes to roster construction, had a significant advantage in athletic ability with their bigs and with Clayton.
At some point, you have to be able to compete athletically enough to at least mitigate that issue and allow your skill to take over.

LOL! Illinois finally hits a three, and this great defense gives it right up.
I love an exciting fast paced NBA style offense. Love it.
