I need Dre to play defense, rebound and not be a ball stopper. I need the defense to play a complete game none of this 19 first half 40 second half discrepancies. I need to see Tomi playing more like Tomi of last year.

I'd just like to see him a little more comfortable as our PG, setting up the other four, etc.
That would be a big game to me.
Keats and Kylan are above average PGs but much better as off guards, IMO.

Kenpom has them at 201, below an average team by 3½ points. Should be an opportunity to get more experience and try some things out before the schedule toughens up later this week.

Would I love to see 10 guys play....all determined that UTRGV will not score a single point in this game. A worthy goal, never achieved, but possible (not in the least probable). If that attitude can permeate this team, they can beat anyone...and maybe everyone.

Illinois scoring margin by half thru 6 games:

1st half: +125
2nd half: +35

Let’s reverse that trend tonight with 2 complete halves. I’m willing to say some of the 2nd half mediocrity is conditioning and will resolve itself as more guys get more minutes. But also, bring it for 40 damn minutes…

A big portion of this is the result of our non-rotation guys getting some big(ger) minutes in the 2nd half of our blow-out wins.

This is so strange to me. I feel like we’ve been a second half team the past few years
