There's the make-up call. Targeting.

Actually, that's an easy call. It was targeting.

Watkins had been playing well. Hate to lose him but it’s the right call.

I'm going to scale this back:

One or two plays like that per game is the difference between an encouraging season and a discouraging one.

Yeah I'm starting to believe (maybe foolishly) that this can be a football-smart team that makes winning plays this year. Of course this optimism has to be paired with pessimism that we will soon be starting walk ons at receiver.

I get the call on Watkins...but at the same time, I'm not sure how a DB plays football without incurring that penalty.

And then the deep ball, busted coverage in secondary. Still an encouraging game overall, but let's clean this up in the last 21 minutes so we can feel good moving forward.

I honestly don't eve know what targeting is any more. Is it any tackle where your helmet makes contact with the ball carriers helmet? They were talking like the D-linemen could have been flagged for targeting as well.

We really need to come out of the gate running the ball more. Last 2 games have passed a lot to start and have gotten off slowly. Once the ground game got rolling we started getting points.

can we stop doing jumping chest bumps after good plays - at the rate we're going through knees a simple 'ata boy' will suffice.

Is McKaughlin 100% on touchbacks this year, about 8 for 8? That’s huge because it eliminates the risk of a big run back.
