Agree. There has to be a recognition that the player has no opportunity to avoid that contact. Especially when the offensive player lowers their head at the last moment, which is exactly what happened with Watson.

I'm all for protecting the head area and if a guy takes a second and then launches I think he should be thrown out and maybe miss more. That is certainly not what happened there. Let's be honest - it's a zero tolerance rule so that when the NCAA gets sued for billions they can point to it

The targeting rule has been lawyered up so bad. Should be just for clear flagrant hits but has been way overused.

The thing about deterrence is that the potential offender has to be able to make a choice to change his bahavior. If you watch that play again, it happens so fast there is absolutely no way Watson could have hit the receiver any other way. He certainly wan't trying to hit the guy in the head or make a dangerous play. I mean, do you really think Watson was headhunting there? It was an instinct play. So what have you deterred? It's just a random call that's bad luck

No, I don't think Watson could have done anything. That's because we've taught players since they were kids to launch themselves like missiles into oncoming receivers. Goal should be to teach kids to rugby tackle if they can't get to the ball. Otherwise, health conscious parents are going to stop letting their kids play. Game is going to significantly suffer if things don't change.

Don't wanna be that guy, but Foster has looked really bad again tonight. What's up with him?

Epstein just crashed into Dudek's knee and my life flashed before my eyes.

lol, a designed QB run. Hey, I like it! WKU obviously didn't expect it.

Could do without the penalty.

Now THIS is play calling I enjoy.

I was just saying to my wife... "I wish Crouch was a little more accurate passer because he does so much other stuff well." She says, "Like what?" And Chace demonstrates.

Amazing first drive of the half. Six minutes off the clock and a TD.

That's why Crouch is our QB.

Great drive. That's gotta boost our confidence.

Going into the half, Lovie says, "We get the ball to start the half. We need to do something with it."

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
