We got very lucky (should have been roughing kicker). My guess for decline is they would still be short of first down and don't want to give us a chance at return. Probably feel like this was as good as they could expect from the field position.
That makes a lot of sense!

Yeah, there's no question that was roughing. Not a good play at all, but much rather it happens here and not next week.
SC is losing and ND is losing. Shaping to be a good Saturday.

Who was that player on special teams? Should be a one and done deal, especially if it happens in the B10 game.

The punt was effective because Beatty got no return. Great NET. They figured (correctly) that moving up 5 yards and still having to punt.....there's a good chance the outcome wouldn't be as good.
That said, it should have been roughing the kicker and we caught a break.
Even short of the stick, rather see Luke slide. Those low clipping tackles have injury written all over it.

That is a helluva 3rd quarter. This staff can adjust. Can’t live that way against good teams but great response.
