Devito is very accurate, the misses haven't been by much and some catchable
Hey we learned! No more QB runs for stupid big gains.
Can you block someone in the back at the line of scrimmage? I only ask because I don't recall ever seeing that called.

Unfortunately, even those were a huge struggle last year.
A mixed bag of a first half, but I'll take a 2 touchdown lead.
I don’t believe you have ever been able to spike the ball in college? It has always been a penalty in college I think?
Some ragged first game play, too many penalties, missed field goals, and some mistiming between the QB and receivers, but overall great effort by offense, defense, and special teams. These are things our excellent coaching staff can easily correct (except field goal kicking). For the first time in many years, I am excited to see our offense progress this season.

They look good and organized. The penalties are on us. We will clean that up. The unsportsmanlike penalties are inexcusable. Nothing brazen, but the players need to know the line. Could/should be up by another 10 or so, but let’s see as aggressive an Illini, while a more disciplined Illini.
I’m certainly not disappointed with this first half. I will become concerned if some things don’t get straightened up before second half and even more so before next game.
DeVito definitely looks more comfortable out there. A couple of catchable passes dropped, but also so bad passes. Years ahead of what we’ve had the last few years (at first glance), and I really liked Peters.
Defense is playing well, and as a whole the team has completely outplayed Wyoming. The only reason we’re not winning by 10 or more points than we are is because of ourselves.
