I don’t know why people in this thread don’t like Dan Hurley. He clearly has a chip on his shoulder but that helps in coaching. And it’s natural he’d have it. As a player, he was overshadowed by his brother Bobby. As a high school coach, he was overshadowed by his Dad. He’s always been the 3rd most famous Hurley so any perceived slight probably fuels him.

But when I look at a guy like him, I respect his path. From an average college player, to high school coach, to low major coach, midmajor coach to high major coach. Nothing was handed to him. I root for guys that grind like that

yep....they play 9 to Iowa's 6. Their bency has 30 pts. at this point while Iowa, forced to play 2 off the bench, has none. These kids run about 1/3 of a marathon during the game and at the speed of this game, depth is a must. Carolina, predictably pulling away....but the Hawks have played well.

they do run a lot, but 1/3 of a marathon in 40 minutes is a 4:35 pace.

Yea kind of have to agree with you.... I get so sick and tired of useless comparisons. Anyone in their right mind who ever watch college BB knows that the best college player of all time and king of scoring was and always will be Pistol Pete.. No one and I mean no one will ever meet or exceed his legend sorry not being sexist or racist just a fact... I don't think Clark was even as good of a scorer as Mounts was

You are right that it will be nearly impossible to exceed Pete's record. For one,

Respecting the grind. Not particularly liking the person and his demeanor.

Can't stand the smugness of the Purdue players (Loyer, Edey) and their incredibly annoying and insecure fanbase. So while I don't like Hurley either, let's go UCONN. At least we'll have lost to the eventual national champion...

At anyone time during the game, Iowa's center was at or near the 4th largest player on the court. S. Carolina was basically playing volleyball inside. It's a shame that Iowa could not match up with them inside.

Edey has to be a willing passer when needed and the other guys have to step up and hit their shots. That’s the only way Purdue wins this
