Yeah, I think getting Clingan in foul trouble was pretty much the only real chance we had. Unfortunately, didn't get the offball movement or whistles needed to make it happen and he just wrecked us.That was Illinois's gameplan, just never happened.
So far, nothing has changed and UConn has developed a comfortable lead.Analysts got it right on. Clingan is making it somewhat difficult for Edey to score easily...making him shoot a bit further out...and doing it one on one. The results is UConn defenders can stay home on Purdue's perimeter arsenal. Edey has no assists. Against most teams, he kicks it out to the open guy where the double or triple defender came. Pretty smart strategy by Hurley and working so far. Not sure what Painter can do to get their perimeter game going since UConn defenders have a huge height advantage and are working hard to defend the arc.
We may see UConn develop a comfortable lead if nothing changes.
And every player they bring in is a great offensive rebounder.UConn with height advantage at all positions but center. Edey just can't do enough to offset the other 4 positions. Purdue with only 3 shots from 3 and only 1 make. In my opinion, UConn is just too tough at the guard position and shutting Purdue down.
