Geronimo Allison runs afoul of substance abuse policy

No bueno. Probably just a minor hiccup in the grand scheme of things, assuming it's limited to a bit of wacky tobaccy.

smh

one would think having a relatively high paying job in the NFL would be enough to keep one clean and sober. I guess not.

I mean I guess, but weed is legal in 7 states now? NFL needs to change their stance because its not performance enhancing and it causes less problems than drinking.

Never understood this argument. Weed could be legal in 50 states and the NFL could decide that it's in the interest of the league to ban it. As mentioned previously, I feel no pity for those who can't stay off of weed when their employer is paying them millions (or close to it). Small thing to ask of them.

The fact that this needs to be explained to some people is really alarming.

Not for all or even most probably, but weed is highly addictive for some. Addiction and logic do not coincide.

I believe Mr. Wales is offering the observation that the NFL could stand to re-evaluate their position (along with the rest of society). That is a little easier to sympathize with.

But sure, if your employer has a policy that states that you must not do a thing, it's a no-brainer to not do the thing.

The NFL would rather you abuse opiates than partake in Marijuana. Many players have spoke about how it helps them deal with pain from playing football.

Tired of the NFL trying to be the moral arbiters, such hypocrites.

From the same league that until video of Ray Rice knocking his fiancee out went viral turned a blind eye to the violence that its players inflicted on others?

Not sure I would put much trust in what the NFL decides whats in its interest.

Co-sign x2.

The NFL is the epitome of hypocrisy (in the sporting world).

no one is really disputing that. You are arguing a different issue

pretty much EVERY major corporation or organization in this country is hypocritical . Welcome to the real working world.

A first year staffer at a CPA or law firm is not going to get away with open and notorious sleeping with underling support people the same way a partner who brings in 10M a year in fees. Different rules for different people-- its not right

that said, when you take a good job, you learn to live by the rules or you find yourself fired from said job.
