From what I've been able to observe of Giorgi's personality, just going through the NBA draft process will probably be an interesting and worthwhile experience for him. Dude does not exhibit a fear of failure. And getting some advice on how to work on his game will continue to pay dividends for his overall professional development. He'll make the most of his opportunities, as we have seen him do time and time again.

Loved watching you wear the O&B, Giorgi B. All the best.

Thank you Giorgi! In an era filled with too many players thinking only about me, me, me and not the name on the front of there jersey, you were a free spirited breath of fresh air. Best of luck in Europe and enjoy your family.

I'm a grown man and this make me really sad. Just such a good dude!

Ok, ok...favorite Giorgi moments?

35 point game against Rutgers two years ago and the lob from Ayo at Minnesota in February.
Those are good ones but will always be the 10 straight points vs. Ohio State in Big Ten championship game. That will live on a long, long time in Illini lore.

Going to miss Giorgi. :(
But I’m super happy that he got his degree first. You are part of Illini Nation forever !

What an amazing player. His time at Illinois was amazing. Its amazing what he gave Illinois. I read his life story and I thought: “That’s Amazing!” I believe he will succeed in a pro league and he will be amazing. Thank you Giorgi for your amazing career with Illinois.

Sad you're leaving, but good for you, Giorgi! Thanks for everything and good luck.

Keep in touch somehow with your Illini friends. Why not join Illinois Loyalty?!

They say you're going pro - is that basketball or dancing? Or both?

I wish you well.

He compiled a sneaky amount of sick dunks in his time here. That one-hander from the baseline against Michigan last year also comes to mind.
I remember that dunk. Didn’t one announcer call that dunk the “Georgian Hammer”? I think even I sent a video of that dunk to the foreign exchange student that we had hosted from the country of Georgia. She was also a big Illini fan and a big Georgi fan as well.

A true legend - will miss this kid but so happy for him. Some day I hope he's covering games on TV, but not until he's pursued his hoops career to it's fullest extent.
GIORGI - you were AMAZING!

I was thinking coming back to coach. He showed great leadership skills here and had great footwork and technique. I think, besides Antigua, he’s one of the bigger influences to Kofi’s success. He will have a lot to offer after that pro career.

Probably impossible to know, but, say 25ish years ago when the nba was almost solely about back to the basket play, if Giorgi an nba player.

Undersized a bit but not sure I saw better footwork in CBB this year.

New here. First post. Long time Illini fan.

Good luck GB! An Illini legend in personality, enthusiasm and optimism - a triple-double that doesn't show up on the stats sheet.

Anyone know where I can get a Giorgi jersey? Ayo's and Kofi's are the only ones I know that are on sale for '21.

Probably would be a great recruiter, too.
