All ESPN and your local ABC channels were dropped from YoutubeTV, 12-17-21

Disney and Google failed to reach an agreement by midnight last night so the feeds were cut at almost midnight eastern time. YTTV says customer bills will drop by $15 (!) a month until an agreement is reached and the channels are restored. Some on social media are encouraging jumping to the Disney+ bundle which includes ESPN+ at $13.99 a month, but ESPN+ is separate and different from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN News etc, and the live sports on those channels are NOT on ESPN+ so that is a non-starter for me. The live schedule today on ESPN+ is mostly soccer. This does not affect the basketball game today. Hoping there is a resolution soon. Seems to me $15 a month is pretty damn generous to Disney. A much as I despise google for their privacy practices, I see Disney as the villain here. ymmv.

What other streaming networks have ESPN???

Sling has them but like I experienced last week they don't carry the local broadcast channels unless you live in a major city so could miss out on games on FOX, CBS, etc.

Agree...hopefully they will work it out. Greed kills...

the full Hulu live package which is upwards of $65 a month has the full ESPN experience of course. Hulu is owned by Disney. DirectTV's streaming thing has it.

This is probably the push for Hulu over YTTV. Tried both and prefer YTTV by far, except in the summer to pickup Marquee for Cubs games. Then switch back after the season is over.

Might need to read more...and listen to Barnhart

And they raise their prices on the 21st, I believe.

Edit: it looks like you get Disney plus and ESPN plus included for the extra 5 bucks though.

I have DIRECTV stream. I like it. Have ESPN channels, big ten network ( I’m northeast, thank you Rutgers).
A bit pricey but keeps the wifey happy.
DVR so I can go about my day and watch it when I’m free.

YouTube TV lost ESPN, ABC and Disney channels. Hulu Live is the best alternative

Hulu Plus Live TV price increases by $5 a month, gains Disney Plus and ESPN Plus

Well, crap. ESPN and other Disney owned channels no longer on YouTube TV. Think UI has at least 3 more ESPN scheduled games. https://tv.youtube.com/learn/disney2021-update/

As noted in the link in the quote:

How else can I access Disney content?

If you want to continue watching some of Disney’s content, consider signing up for their own service, The Disney Bundle, which they offer for $13.99/month and which is subject to its own terms and restrictions.

Same here. Even has BTN overflow channels during football season.

As noted earlier, ESPN+ does not have the games shown live on ESPN and ESPN2 broadcast channels. It's a totally different world.

Giving Fubo.tv 7 Day Trial right now. It seems to have all the sports channels you'd want, (and MARQUEE which was missing from YTTV) but fewer channels overall. And the cloud DVR is limited. 250 hours ($65/month) or 1000 hours ($69/Month). Has ESPN U but not ESPN NEWS.

Hulu did not carry the Marquee network this last baseball season

I see 4 games on the schedule impacted by this disney vs yttv battle. Does that look right to others?
  • 01/06 Maryland
  • 01/25 Michigan St.
  • 02/05 @Indiana
  • 02/10 @Purdue

I suspect they'll have a deal worked out by 1/06. These things usually do work out. But ya never know I guess.

YouTube TV just sent me an email that they reached a deal with Disney and all of the relevant networks are already starting to pop back up (along with all of my recordings from them). Amazingly, they are still giving everyone a one-time $15 credit for this month even though the outage only lasted like a day.

Don't forget about March Madness, fubo.tv doesn't carry TBS, TNT, or truTV.

We did the trial and we liked it enough that I’m continuing it through March.
