It’s just been a different feel to the game atmosphere, the player mentality, just about everything since his arrival. I feel we are in every single game.

I slightly disagree about Ron Zook. He seriously upgraded recruiting. In fact Brett has not recruited as well. Zook's problem was he didn't utilize the talent he secured. He still got us to the Rose Bowl in 2008, beat the crap out of Michigan in 2008 and 2009 and had winning records his last two years. After Zook left recruiting fell off noticeably. Beckman was a disaster. Mike Thomas should not have fired Zook unless he had a real good coach lined up.

I would rather have an above average recruiter and great gameday coach than a good recruiter who couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

I would take either before whatever Beckman was.

Not to derail the thread but under Zook we were never gonna over perform our talent. Bret has arguably done that in 3 of his 5 years. It’s much more fun to watch a team u know is well prepared and plays smart ball.
